Where exactly

Hervey Bay Esplanade. Between Pialba and Point Vernon. 100m after Beach Rd circle turn right into The Pines - an old camping ground now a picnic area. Walk along the beach towards Pt Vernon. Some very isolated spots. Cross street: Esplanade after the Beach Rd circle heading towards Point Vernon

When to go

Evenings seem to be best. I have seen some waiting around the covered picnic area in the afternoons. There is a toilet block nearby. Had some action in the trees and old camp sites.

Go for a walk along the darkened beach.
