12commentsThe river is popular year round. It's mostly gay, and most guys are nude. A stiff and a little stroking often leads to more. Update on directions: Look for the parked cars on the right. It is before the hatchery. Just after the pulloff that overlooks the area on the right.

Where exactly
Whitewater exit off the I-10, and drive up into the canyon or north. After a residential area, park in the third parking area (dirt), on the right. Follow the trail to the river and cross. The best areas are to the left.
Cruisiest spot: Areas of sand where the sunbathers gather.

Whitewater is OPEN and the Fire Signs have been removed. Great place to hang out.

This spot used to be marginally exciting. It is not any more. There are rocks painted every few hundred yards telling people to stay out. Ostensibly for fire danger, which is bogus since we are having a wet winter. On a recent weekday afternoon after work there were no other gay cars at all. Of course there was a hetero family having a picnic and no rangers to stop them. Forget this place and try one of the bookstores in Cathedral City

would love better directions. was there today and didn't see any parked cars except at the place where the road ends and that was mostly hetro couples. hiked around and found no signs of any guys looking for fun so was probably in the wrong place.

We have gone a couple times and I am not really sure if people actually go there we drove up to where the road crosses the river and there is never anyone there...are we in the right area? Can someone send me and email and let me know if this is the right place and if not where is it? Thanks
